Františkovy Lázně belongs, together with Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně to a so-called ”Spa Triangle“. The town is situated on the border with Germany, near the historical town Cheb. The uniqueness of the spa consists in mineral springs high in carbon dioxide. Františkovy Lázně is a touristy and very popular destination. Thanks to many historical monuments the town obtained the statute of the urban conservation area. Its beautiful surroundings and parks invite to bicycle trips and walks round the spa forests. Visitors have an opportunity to play mini-golf, tennis or other traditional spa sports. The town offers an enormous number of cultural events, concerts and programmes.

Monuments

In the urban conservation area you will find many interesting monuments The Court of Glaubers´ Springs. belongs to the most significant ones. It was built above the Church Spring, Glauber III and Glauber IV Springs. The latter is a natural curiosity. Thanks to its high content of Glauber´s salt it belongs to the most significant springs in the world. Another popular monument is the statue of statue of František that is one of the town symbols. It is a statue of a little naked boy with a fish in his hands, sitting on a ball. The legend says that the woman that touches the statue will become pregnant. František is said to be the most powerful of the local health resources.
