Lázně Jáchymov »

The spa town of Jáchymov is situated at the bottom of the Ore Mountains. It is famous not only for the unique spa treatment, but also for its extensive mining history. Jáchymov is located in a beautiful Ore Mountains country suitable for hiking, cycling, exacting mountain tours as well as trips for families with children. The local ski areas provide all services to lovers of winter sports. Jáchymov has been visited by many notable persons - Georgius Agricola, Martin Luther, T. G. Masaryk and others. Marie Curie Sklodowska, a Polish scientist who isolated the radioactive element radium from the Jáchymov uranite, was working here too.
