Mariánské lázně
Mariánské Lázně is one of the vertex of a so-called ”Spa Triangle“ which includes also Františkovy Lázně and Karlovy Vary. The second largest spa in the Czech Republic can boast, as well as Karlovy Vary, many mineral springs. The town is distinguished not only by healing springs, their pavilions and colonnades, but also by many parks and historical monuments. Popular spa services are provided by renowned hotels and other spa facilities.
Monuments
The most significant monument is the cast iron Spa Colonnade from the 19th century. In front of this architectural jewel you will find another popular attraction - Singing Fountain, that “sings” every odd hour from May till October.

Spa Treatment
Mariánské Lázně is a renowned spa town. The local procedures have helped millions of patients all over the world. Every year people with the following health troubles come to Mariánské Lázně:

- Drinking cure: Patients drink regularly water from the mineral springs. They drink about a litre of mineral water a day in several doses. Drinking cure is governed exactly by physician’s instructions.
- Carbon bath: Carbon dioxide is absorbed through the skin and dilates blood vessels during the bath. It helps treat kidney diseases, vegetative dystonia, cardiovascular diseases etc.
- Gas bath: When taking a gas bath, patients are immersed into gas from the Mary’s Spring (containing 99% of CO2). Carbon dioxide is absorbed through the skin and has a positive effect on the health state.
- Gas injections (insulfations): They are used to treat certain skin diseases.
- Wraps and packs (peloids): After being warmed up, peat, mud and other wraps and packs are applied to the whole body or its parts. Warmth and curative substances are absorbed through the skin.
The majority of the spa hotels, sanatoria and spa facilities offer various types of massages and some wellness procedures.
Sports and tourism
Mariánské Lázně and its surroundings are interlaced with tourist trailsthat suit walking tourists as well as cyclists. You can choose from relatively unexacting spa walks as well as more exacting and longer tours. It depends completely on you and your condition. An offer of sport enjoyment is very rich too. The region boasts golf courses. In Mariánské Lázně golf has had its tradition since 1905. The Royal Golf Club was established here as the second golf course in the CR.
